What Homeowners Don't Realize

Your attic is the hottest room in your house. It just doesn't feel like one.

In summer, the air under your shingles can hit 130°F. In winter, warm indoor air rises into the attic and condenses on the cold roof deck, leaving the framing damp. Both quietly cost you money until you move that air out.

The Benefits

Six wins from one upgrade.

Solar attic ventilation is the rare home improvement that pays off in every season.

  • Greater Comfort

Bedrooms stop feeling hotter than the rest of the house. Upstairs catches up to downstairs. Year-round, your home feels the way the thermostat says it should.

  • Lower Energy Costs

When your attic stops cooking the rooms below, your AC stops running double shifts and your power bill stops climbing every summer.

  • Roof Lasts Longer

Shingles cook from underneath in summer and trap moisture under the deck in winter. Constant attic airflow protects the deck from both.

  • HVAC Lasts Longer

A 130°F attic forces your air conditioner to fight an oven every cooling season. Take that load off and the system works easier and lives longer.

  • Healthier Home

Warm humid attic air condenses on cold framing in winter and feeds mold. Pulling that air out keeps insulation dry and indoor air cleaner.

  • Reduce Fungus & Moisture

Soaked plywood, soft sheathing, rotting framing — all signs of a wet attic. A solar fan moves a steady column of air through the attic so moisture never sits long enough to do damage.

How it works: a solar fan actively cools your attic. Hot attic air is vented out, cooler outside air is drawn in through the soffit vents, lowering attic temperature. Energy and performance benefits include lower energy costs, reduced HVAC runtime, lower moisture, and improved insulation performance. Comfort and protection benefits include more comfortable living spaces, extended roof lifespan, prevented attic heat buildup, and reduced risk of roof rot.

Federal incentives

Tax credits and rebates, by country.

Solar attic ventilation gets help from federal and provincial programs in most of the markets we serve. We send you the documentation at install. Your CPA or tax software does the rest.

United States

Solar attic fans qualify for the federal 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit under IRS Form 5695, available through tax year 2032. On a typical $1,250 install, that's roughly $375 back at tax time.

Some states add their own incentives on top. California, Arizona, New York, Massachusetts, and a few others have utility-level rebates that change year to year. We do not give tax advice; confirm the current credit with your CPA or tax software.

Canada

The US federal Clean Energy Credit does not apply north of the border. Provincial utility programs do. Efficiency Manitoba, BC Hydro Power Smart, Energy Efficiency Alberta, Save On Energy Ontario, and Hydro-Quebec all run ventilation, insulation, or attic-related rebate programs that change yearly.

Check your provincial utility before install. We send you the install receipt and product spec sheet for your rebate application.

Tax credit and rebate amounts vary by jurisdiction and year. The figures here are accurate as of 2026 to the best of our knowledge but should not be treated as tax advice. Confirm eligibility with your accountant or your provincial utility before counting on a specific dollar amount.

The fan

Meet the fan that does the work.

Powered by its own integrated solar panel. Quiet. Brushless. American made. Built to handle hail, wind, and decades of weather without complaint. Mounts on the back slope of your roof so it never shows from the curb. Backed by our lifetime warranty.
